Telugu student on purpose damages 50 computers in the US: Penalised to about $2.5 lakh
Indian students in other countries not only carry their dreams to achieve heights but will also live the dreams of their families back here. Amidst the stringent visa norms, very few are making it until they pursue their higher studies in countries like the US, Canada and become a permanent resident there.
On this note, an Indian student named Vishwanath Akuthota was arrested in the United States for deliberately damaging around 50 computers in the college he pursuing his higher studies.
The 26-Year-Old who hails from Andhra Pradesh is studying in The College of Saint Rose in Albany and staying there with Student Visa. Reportedly, Vishwanath used a USB Killer Device to destroy the computers on the college campus. Due to the varied power surge sent by the USB, the college has incurred a loss of $50,000 i.e, about Rs 35.55 lakh.
Apart from the detention from respective college, Vishwanath Akuthota will also be produced in the court and might be imposed imprisonment up to 10 years and a penalty of $2.5 lakh (Rs 1.80 crore approximately).
On the other hand, his family members over here are in a deep shock and are praying for their son for the best to happen. Will the Government of India come to the rescue of the Indian student there?
