A day after Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian wrestler to qualify for 2020 Olympics, CWG 2018 gold medallist Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya qualified for Olympics after winning their respective quarter-finals in World Wrestling Championships.
However, both wrestlers lost their semi-final encounters. Bajrang qualified in the 65-kg category, while Ravi qualified in the 57-kg category.
Vinesh Phogat, who became the first Indian wrestler to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, clinched bronze in the 53-kg category in the World Wrestling Championships on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old defeated two-time world bronze medallist Maria Prevolaraki with the scoreline of 4-1 in the 53-kg category. Earlier, she defeated American wrestler Sarah Hildebrandt to qualify for the Olympics.
