Times Mega Poll: Modi remains the most popular choice with 83.9% of votes
Narendra Modi’s growing popularity is no doubt bringing global recognition to India. But Modi now is not only the popular leader of India but also the most trusted politician.
The Times Group has conducted an online survey between February 11-20, which showed that Modi is nation's evident choice as the next PM if LS polls happen in the near future. The Times Mega Poll survey has over two-thirds of respondents rate Modi as their next choice.
Seems like the five years of Narendra Modi’s administration has generated a huge hope, making 83% of participants preferring him as the next PM. Congress president Rahul Gandhi stood at the second place with 8.33% of votes and then Mamata Banerjee at 1.44% votings.
In another poll conducted by the Times Group, respondents were asked whether Rahul Gandhi was a more popular leader today compared to 2014. Around 31.15% agreed that his popularity increased while the remaining 63% gave a no.
When asked to rate how well Narendra Modi's government has fared in the last five years. Surprisingly, 59.51% have voted for the very good category. When the survey asked online respondents to rate the biggest success of Modi, 34.39% voted for providing facilities to poor families from numerous schemes.
When the current trending topic on Rafale was asked, only 17.5% said that it would have a negative impact on the coming elections while a mammoth 74.6% said it will barely affect the results.
The poll was conducted in 9 different languages through 13 different media handles of Times now. Over 50 lakh members voted where the results were not displayed to avoid multiple voting. Only logged in users are allowed to cast their votes.
