Trinamool Congress asks EC to cancel PM's nomination over '40 MLAs' remark!
Modi’s recent words raised the election heat with just three phases remaining to wind up the Lok Sabha elections. During an election rally in Sreerampur on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had claimed that 40 TMC MLAs were in touch with him and will desert their party once the BJP wins the general elections.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday asked Election Commission to cancel PM Narendra Modi's poll nomination if he fails to provide an explanation for his remark that 40 MLAs will desert TMC if BJP wins the elections. TMC alleged that his statement indicates 'impending horse-trading'. It further called the remark "undemocratic and provocative".
The TMC said it is "shocked and surprised" to hear the utterances of the Prime Minister that 40 AITC MLAs are in touch with him and will cross over to BJP after the declaration of results of Lok Sabha election.
