Umesh Jadhav in trouble? Congress urges speaker to decline his resignation

A day after Congress rebel MLA from Chincholi constituency, Kalaburugi Umesh Jadhav submitted his resignation to the speaker, to join the BJP, leader of the Congress Legislature Party and former CM Siddaramaiah urged the speaker KR Ramesh Kumar not to accept his resignation.

According to the sources, KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao and CLP leader Siddaramaiah have written letters to the speaker informing him that Jadhav violated the provisions of the anti-defection law and he needs to be barred from contesting for any election for next five years. A Congress leader informed that both the leaders sent a letter to the office of Ramesh Kumar and requested him not to accept Jadhav's resignation.

Jadhav is planning to join BJP in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday at a mega rally at Kalaburugi, his home district.
