Union Minister Smriti Irani admits that she is not a graduate

Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani, however, cleared the air over her graduation breaking years of contemplations. The actor-turned-politician declared in the election affidavit filed in 2014 that she graduated from Delhi University's School Of Open Learning in 1994 which was later clarified by the DU that she was never their student.
However, in her new affidavit filed to contest from Amethi Constituency, the minister declared to the Election Commission that her three-year degree course was not completed. She made the same declaration during her nomination to Rajya Sabha in 2017.
In the category of Highest Educational Qualification, the affidavit said Bachelor of Commerce Part-1 from the School of Open Learning (Correspondence) University of Delhi. The year is 1994. She also disclosed her property details which are of worth Rs 4.71 crore. The affidavit also disclosed that she has 89 lakh cash in bank accounts, jewellery worth Rs 21 lakh and vehicles worth Rs 13 lakh.
At a recent press meet, Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi took a dig at Smriti commenting that 'A new serial is coming - Kyunki Mantri Bhi Kabhi Graduate Thi’ and the opening line will be 'Qualifications Keep Changing'. Upon which the Union Minister hit back saying: ”No matter what you say, the more you harass me, the harder I will work in Amethi."
