After their helicopter crashed this afternoon, three individuals died in a helicopter transporting aid stuff to the flood-affected regions in Uttarakhand. The private helicopter collapsed when it struck a power cable in Uttarkashi district.
Uttarkashi Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal informed news service PTI over the phone that the helicopter crashed near Moldi while arriving after transporting aid goods among the injured individuals.
The helicopter crashed and hurried to the place by Indo-Tibetan Border Police staff engaged in relief job. Over the previous few days, the heavy rain and cloud bursts have resulted to flooding in parts of Uttarakhand, left individuals trapped in several fields. Thirty-five individuals died in the country. After heavy rainfall in the last few days, the Tons River flowed above the risk stage in Uttarkashi.
On Tuesday, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat visited Uttarkashi's rain-ravaged Mori block, where 16 individuals were killed. Other northern Indian states like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana were also struggling with the heavy rain impact. 43 People were killed in the rain that caused landslides in Himachal.
In 2013, Uttarakhand was hit by catastrophic floods that murdered thousands of individuals and caused considerable harm. Severe rainfall had leads their banks to explode lakes and rivers, flooding cities and villages below.
