BJP leader, Vijayapura MLA and Ex-Union Minister Basana Gowda Patil Yatnal advised the BJP National leader to permit two more cabinet berths to the Lingayat community.
Talking to media at Vijayapura city, he said that the Lingayats extended full support to the BJP in the Lok Sabha poll and more candidates from the community have won. “So, the community must be given more Cabinet berths,” he stated.
He also declared that the candidates of the Dalit and OBC communities, who elevated their support to the party, should be given more representation in the Cabinet.
It can be remembered that only Lingayat MP (Suresh Angadi from Belagavi) was introduced to the Union Cabinet.
(Nirmala Sitharaman and Prahlad Joshi) and one Vokkaliga (D V Sadananda Gowda) from Karnataka were also introduced into the new Cabinet.
Yatnal’s demand occurs among the reports that the BJP national leadership didn’t shift to BSY’s demand for a portfolio to MP Shobha Karandlaje.
