Admitting to the fact that his father’s death is not a natural one but a brutal murder, Sunita said that the news left her in a shock. “Rumours and speculations being aired on various TV channels have made me more upset. I demand a proper investigation into my father's murder and grim actions should be taken against the culprits,” said Sunitha. She also requested the people, politicians, media to show respect to her father that they have shown when he was alive.

In reply to the allegations made on her family by Chandrababu Naidu, Sunitha replied that her family has learned to live together despite going the differences in ideologies, castes, cultures, and religion. "We were taught to live with each other by embracing the differences. Just because we have a difference of opinion, doesn’t mean that we kill each other. We meet every now and then and spend some quality time. We have already met twice from the last 3 months“ said YS Sunitha.

YS Sunitha also requested the media to wait until the SIT completes their investigation and have asked one and all to maintain restraint without jumping to conclusions. “It is my father’s dream to see YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister and as a daughter, it is my responsibility to support his dream,” she added.
