Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his residence on Friday evening. Vamsi was accompanied by Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani) and Transport and I&PR Minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani). The meeting comes at a time when speculations are rife that he will join Reddy's YSRCP.
The buzz going around Andhra Pradesh is, Vallabhaneni is expected to resign to his MLA post first and then formally join YSRCP. So Gannavaram will go for by-poll inevitably. But will Vallabhaneni contest again? The answer we hear is NO. Jagan is said to have informed Vallabhaneni that the latter will be sent to Rajya Sabha and Jagan wants to offer Gannavaram ticket to Yarlagadda Venkat Rao.
Venkat Rao lost to Vallabhaneni in the recent elections with the merest of margins. The reason behind TDP’s complete silence on Vallabhaneni's episode is that Vallabhaneni has met TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu a few days back and informed him about leaving the party.
Earlier on Friday, the TDP MLA had also met BJP MP YS Chowdary. Hold your horses for now, as we don’t know what’s in the store.
