‘Will EC stand responsible for the Fani cyclone damages?’: Y. Ramakrishnudu
With the tussle between Election Commission and the Chief Minister of AP Chandrababu Naidu, the normal administration is falling into a threat. As the newly appointed Chief Secretary L V Subrahmanyam restrained the AP government from conducting the review meeting, questions started sprouting out as of who will stand responsible if cyclonic storm 'Fani' causes damage to the state.
The same concern was raised by the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y. Ramakrishnudu on Sunday who referred to the reports that 'Fani' cyclone in the Bay of Bengal may turn very severe and head towards the state’s coast. "Who will stand responsible for the cyclone damages if any? Chief Secretary? The Election Commission? Or the Modi government?" asked the senior cabinet minister. Ramakrishnudu also lashed out that the senior bureaucrat is an underhand favouring YSR Congress party and its chief under the shadow of BJP. “The new CS's actions are posing a serious threat to the democracy,” he added.
It was a known fact that the EC has issued orders to halt the Polavaram project’s review meetings upon the complaint received from the opposition YSRCP. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief took strong exception to the poll panel preventing him from holding meetings to review the Polavaram and construction of state capital Amaravati. Chandrababu hereby questioned why was the same thing not being implemented in other states which were ruled by BJP.
