Thala Ajith is one of the biggest stars of Tamil Cinema currently, who enjoys a massive fanbase. The actor is one of the rare cases in Indian cinema, who is rarely seen outside of cinema, and whose personal life remains a mystery to all. He's not even someone who promotes his films, and yet manages to bring in the big bucks, thanks to the kind of following he has developed for himself over the years.
Ajith teamed up with director Vinoth for Thunivu. The film has been carrying massive expectations on it since day one, and was released on 11th January worldwide, Sankranthi this year. The film is an out and out action entertainer, and features Manju Warrier as the leading lady. The trailer of the film was very well received by the audiences as well.
The music for the film has been composed by Ghibran, whose background score was one of the major highlights of the film, along with the cinematography of the film. Thunivu released in Telugu as Thegimpu. On the first day, the film managed to get decent collections in the Telugu states, but with major Telugu films releasing from the 12th, the collections in the Telugu states dropped majorly. Thunivu is strong in Tamil Nadu.
