Chanakya movie fails to cash in on festive season release as the film is off poor start in Telugu States at box-office. This is one of the career worst opening collection for a Gopichand starrer.

Chanakya has taken a poor opening at Box-Office in the Telugu States as the film has collected a distributor Share of 1.23cr on day one. This is one of the career worst opening for a Gopichand starrer. Generally his films will open to decent numbers at box-office in B, C centres but Chanakya is a total washout from A to D centres on its opening day itself. The film fails to cash in on festive season release and clash with Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy proved to be very costly for the makers.

 
Theatrical rights of the film are valued at around 12 cr and there is no hope of reaching that number.
