Kantara Box Office Collections: Rishab Shetty Starrer Record The Biggest Fifth Weekend Of All Time In India

Kantara's amazing box office run continues, with the picture currently breaking all-time records. The film grossed around Rs. 36 crores in its fifth weekend, up 14 percent from the previous week. The boost in receipts was due to the proliferation of dubbed versions, with all but Telugu posting increases over the previous week. The film outperformed Baahubali 2's previous peak for the fifth weekend (Rs. 23.20 crores) by a whopping 55 percent. In fact, it nearly surpassed Baahubali 2's full-week total of Rs. 40.30 crores throughout the weekend alone.

In general, opening records are simpler to break and are broken all the time, but later weekend/week records are more difficult to set, yet in the case of Baahubali 2, it has held all of them for a long time and it is the later week records that are now being renewed by Kantara. Kantara also recorded the greatest fourth Monday to Wednesday at the Indian box office, giving the picture six single-day records in its honor, with the remainder now held by Baahubali 2. Kantara will break many more all-time daily and weekly records in the following few weeks, given how far ahead of Baahubali 2 it is in daily collecting.

The picture continues to do well across the board, albeit it is the Hindi version in North India that has claimed the lead in terms of receipts. The film grossed over Rs. 13.50 crores in North India, up 60% from the previous week, bringing the total to over Rs. 50 crores. In other states, weekend receipts increased in Kerala and quadrupled in Tamil Nadu compared to the previous weekend. Karnataka maintains its dominance with a massive Rs. 11 crores fifth weekend, down only 20%. The total in the state has surpassed Rs. 140 crores and is quickly approaching KGF 2 to become the state's highest grosser.
