A True Sankranthi For Tollywood After Several Years
A True Sankranthi For Tollywood After Several Years
It's been a long time since the Sankranthi season has seen real festivities in the Telugu states. This year, with the release of Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy, it looks like a true Sankranthi.
The last big Sankranthi festival for Tollywood was in 2020 when Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun's movies, Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikuntapuramlo were released. Shortly after that, the coronavirus pandemic took the world by storm. Since then, there hasn't been a huge Sankranthi festival in Tollywood. This year, things seem to be back to normal, with two massive films having been released.
Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi's movies, Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya, have been released for Sankranthi this year. Both films are doing very well at the box office. Fans are overjoyed with the results of the films. Also, it's been decades since Chiru and Balayya arrived for Sankranthi. That has made this festive season even better.
VRS and WV are both entertaining the audiences thoroughly, and are expected to go strong in theatres in the upcoming weeks as well. This is because there are no other major films set to be released anytime soon. With the effect of VRS and WV, Vijay's Varisu and Ajith's Thegimpu have been completely ignored by the Telugu audience.
Another favorable factor this season has been the fact that there have been no remake movies. Chiru has come up with a straight concept, and the film has managed to show him the way audiences love watching Chiru. Balayya has also been showcased in a very powerful role, just the way audiences love watching him. On the whole, Tollywood has finally been able to capture the essence of Sankranthi after a really long time.
