Shruti Haasan took to social media to respond to accusations that she did not attend a pre-launch event for her upcoming film, Waltair Veerayya. The film, directed by K. S. Ravindra, stars Shruti, Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja, and Catherine Tresa. Shruti claimed that she missed the event owing to a viral infection.

 
Shruti Haasan posted screenshots of media reports which claimed she has ‘mental problems’. They also claimed that she is undergoing treatment. The actor wrote, “Ok so here's the thing. Misinformation like this... And the over dramatization or flippant handling of such subjects is what makes people afraid to talk about mental health. Guess what? It doesn't work.”
 
“I will always be a mental health advocate I will always promote taking care of myself in all aspects. Oh and…I had a viral fever so nice try to get over yourselves and while you are at it please talk to a therapist. No really, please do,” she added.
 
Waltair Veerayya is produced by Naveen Yerneni, and Y Ravi Shankar, and co-produced by G K Mohan. The film will launch under the brand Mythri Movie Makers. The film will release on January 13. The Telugu original and the Hindi dubbed version will release on the same day. The film's release date has been set for August 20, 2021. Shruti's Veera Simha Reddy will be out on the same day.
 
In addition to Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy, Shruti Haasan's The Eye will release this year. She will also appear in Prabhas' upcoming Salaar. It is her first cooperation with Prabhas. The film, expected to be an action saga, stars Prabhas as Salaar.
