Legendary director Mani Ratnam is celebrating his 65th birthday today, June 2. Social media is filled with wishes from his fans and celebrities. Aditi Rao Hydari took to Instagram to share a photo of herself hugging Mani Ratnam from behind. Sharing her wish, Aditi wrote, "Happy happiest birthday my favouritestestestest #ManiSir. To many many endless years of making movies, your infectious energy, good health,happiness and golf! Thank you for being the best teacher, parent, mentor, captain. Thank you for the magic of cinema, for making me (us) enjoy every bit of the journey of making a film. Thank you always for making me believe that dreams come true. Thank you for being you You’re the best forever (sic)."

Sarathkumar, who is working with Mani Ratnam in Ponniyin Selvan, took to Twitter to wish him on birthday. He wrote, "Wishing the grand master of the entertainment industry a very happy birthday ,may the blessings of the almighty be showered in abundance on this special day #ManiRatnam @hasinimani (sic)." Radikaa wrote, "Happy birthday to the pride of Cinema #maniratnam , cherish our friendship and to more wonderful times. keep being the genius you are always (sic)."
