Advance booking figures are usually a metric to gauge the public’s reception of movies. And going by the statistics available, films that have become blockbusters have had chart-busting booking numbers.
As per available information, Brahmastra takes the top spot in advance booking numbers with more than 9 lakh tickets. This is the highest number of tickets sold since the release of KGF chapter 2. The National Cinema Day certainly gave Brahmastra a leg up due to low ticket prices.
Next on the list is KGF Chapter 2, which sold over 5.05 lakh tickets before its release.
Brahmastra will almost certainly have a double-digit Friday, and its earnings could perhaps exceed the Rs 15-20 crore mark, which would be the highest they have been since the opening weekend. In what could be its final big week, this could give the movie new life. Dulquer Salmaan’s Chup sold over 1.65 lakh tickets through advance booking, which is a respectable sum for a movie of this size.
It is interesting to compare these numbers with films that are about to hit the screens. The most prominent film on that list is Saif Ali Khan - Hrithik Roshan starrer Vikram Vedha. Vikram Vedha has managed to sell about 57.5 thousand tickets so far. This could climb to 60 thousand. The movie is eighth on the list of the highest number of advance tickets sold.
