Akhil Akkineni has been around for a decent time in Telugu cinema but most of his films have only been flops. His last film, Most Eligible Bachelor was a decent outing but was not the kind of hit that Akhil is expecting. So, he has now pinned all his hopes on his new film Agent which has been made on a whopping budget of 60 crores and is the most expensive film of Akhil's career.
A few days back, the makers announced that the film will be released on the eve of Sankranthi 2023 in January. Akkineni fans are rejoicing but the trade feels that Akhil and his team have taken a very bold move that can land him costly as biggies like Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy of Chiru and Balayya will be coming out respectively.
One of the trade experts feels that even if the film gets a blockbuster talk, it cannot collect 70 crores at the box office due to the presence of other biggies. So, they feel that Agent should have a solo release which will help the film in a big way.
Surender Reddy has directed this film and his philosophy is that Sankranthi is the season when some big films come and make merry. So, if they get a good talk, their film can go all out. But others think it is a risky move and only time will tell whether the risky move pays off or not.
