Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has allotted the appointment for a Tollywood delegation that will be headed by Chiranjeevi. The meeting is scheduled to take place on the 20th of this month.
Jagan’s cabinet minister Perni Nani is orchestrating the meeting and he has conveyed to the Tollywood delegation that Jagan will be awaiting their arrival on the 20th of September.
The delegation will be discussing several important topics like the restricted ticket prices issue, permissions for screening special shows, and special subsidies for exhibitors with the chief minister.
There are rumours that chief minister Jagan is in favour of permitting 100% occupancy at cinema halls across Andhra Pradesh starting from the week. Following the meeting, if Jagan agrees to also permit flexible ticket pricing and also screen special shows during the weekends, it could come as a big boost to Tollywood.
Also, the chief minister is likely to discuss the Andhra Pradesh government’s recent proposal to develop a government-run cinema ticketing portal. He will be requesting all possible support from Telugu cinema actors and producers for the same.
If the government of Andhra Pradesh permits flexible pricing and allow 100% occupancy at cinema halls, the revenues of forthcoming releases will be greatly boosted. The first film that will be benefited from the same would be Naga Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi, and Sekhar Kammula’s Love Story, which is releasing on the 24th of this month.
