The Producers Guild of India has announced that they will set up a relief fund to help out Daily Wage earners across the country. Ayushmann Khurrana and Karan Johar took a pledge to help them.
While the outbreak of Coronavirus has left many stranded in the comfort of their homes others are not so lucky. Following Narendra Modi's announcement for a 21-day lockdown in India, many daily wage workers across the country are now left without any source of livelihood. Now to combat this many celebrities from the Indian film industry have joined hands with the Producers Guild of India to help.
Coronavirus has affected millions of people across the globe and already killed over 20,000 people. Today stars like Ayushmann Khurrana, Tapsee Pannu, Rajkumar Rao, and filmmaker Karan Johar all pledged to help daily wage earners.
Karan Johar took to his Twitter account to share his support. He wrote, "I pledge to contribute and support this initiative! This is a situation that needs all our help, love, care and support!"
Taapsee Pannu also urged her fans to help everyone they can. She wrote, "This one for the daily wage workers. Because we need to do our bit for the ones who work with/for us. If not corona, a lack of basic food might take them down. Let's help them to get through this."
Ayushmann Khurrana also shared a message on his Twitter handle. He wrote, "I vow to support this and contribute. India and Indians are under threat and each one of us has the power to make a difference. Let's support and care for each other as much as we can in this time of crisis. #Istandwithhumanity."
Other stars like Kiara Advani also shared similar messages on their social media accounts.
