Ball in the court of 'Srikanth Addala'

Asuran is one of the biggest blockbusters in the Tamil film industry this year. Directed by Vetrimaaran, this film featured Dhanush in the lead role. Popular Telugu producer Suresh Babu bought the remake rights of this film and announced that Daggubati Venkatesh will play the lead role in the Telugu version.

A lot of filmmakers like Ohmkar, Hanu Raghavapudi, Tharun Bhascker, and Sagar Chandra got considered to helm this project but finally, Suresh Babu finalized Srikanth Addala as the director. Suresh Babu himself revealed the news in a recent interview.
The ace producer also said that they are making quite a few changes in the script to suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audience. Asuran is a revenge drama with casteism as the main plot of it. There is a lot of action sequences and gory scenes in the film. When Addala got announced as the director, many people doubted his capabilities of handling the project, given his reputation for doing family-oriented films.
But to be honest, it is a golden opportunity for the Mukunda director. He can shut the mouths of his critics and prove that he can handle any kind of subject and not only a family drama. Moreover, Suresh Babu's guidance in the scripting will help him in a big way. Addala also has an experience of working with Venkatesh earlier for the film, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. These are quite a few advantages which he can make use of. Anyways, let's see how well he manages to remake the film.
