Bollywood films Sooryavanshi and 83 might opt for an OTT route by skipping theatrical release; Uncertainty over new releases

Until the end of the year, the occupancy in the film theatres will be less. As of now, there is no clarity at all on when the theatres will get re-opened. Even if they get opened, there is no chance to see new films getting released. Star heroes who waited all these days for a theatrical release are now changing their plans. As per the latest reports, Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi and Kabir Khan’s 83 are gearing up for a grand release on OTT platform. The makers of both the films waited all this time to have a release in theatres but it seems like the theatrical release might not be possible.

Reliance Entertainment CEO Shibashish Sarkar has now dropped a bomb that they are looking at releasing the films on OTT platforms. However, he says that they are 100% inclined to take theatrical route but practically, it is not happening. The production house wants to push the film release even to the end of the year but it looks like the release might not happen. The producers might have to rely on OTT release. As of now, there is no clarity on the same but let us wait and watch a few more days.
