Kangana Ranaut made her debut in Kollywood with Jayam Ravi's Dhaam Dhoom. After a gap of nearly a decade, Kangana is getting back to Tamil with Thalaivi, directed by AL Vijay. Thalaivi is the official biopic on the life of Tamil Nadu former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Yesterday, Samantha Akkineni launched the first sigle from Thalaivi in three languages. The song is titled Mazhai Mazhai in Tamil, Ilaa Ilaa in Telugu and Chali Chali in Hindi. The song replicates some of the iconic looks of J Jayalalithaa and Kangana Ranaut seems to have given her everything for the song.
Speaking about Kangana's performance in the Mazhai Mazhai song in Thalaivi, choreographer Brinda wrote, "Beautiful and gorgeous Kangana dancing so gracefully and bringing out the best as Jaya amma. Huge fan of Jaya amma. #Thalaivithemovie Let’s all do the #hookstepchallenge and see the best ones!! This is mine!! ?." The film also stars Arvind Swami as MG Ramachandran aka MGR, Prakash Raj as Karunanidhi, Madhoo as Janaki and Shamna Kasim as Sasikala. Thalaivi has music composed by GV Prakash and Rachita Arora.
