Coronavirus: Prakash Raj provides shelter to the stranded daily wage workers

The COVID-19 pandemic has left the daily wage workers of the Tamil Film Industry in misery. Some of them are finding it hard to meet day to day expenses, while others are left without a roof over their heads. Actor Prakash Raj has come forward to provide shelter to those who are stranded on the streets.

The lock-down imposed to tackle the Coronavirus has had a huge impact on the daily wage workers. The workers are stranded without a source of income. Additionally, with the shutting down of a majority of transport facilities, the workers cannot return to their places of origin. This has left them homeless. Actor Prakash Raj has decided to celebrate his birthday by doing something to help the workers. He has decided to open up his farmhouse to those stranded due to the lock-down.

He tweeted," On my birthday today. I did this. Gave shelter to 11 stranded workers from Pondichery, Chennai.. Khammam.. it’s not just government s responsibility. It’s ours too. #COVID2019 #21daylockdown #kuchKaronna .. let’s celebrate humanity .. let’s fight this united .. #JustAsking."

Prakash Raj has been doing his part to help those in need. The actor has recently contributed 150 rice bags to the members of FEFSI who have lost their source of income because of the lock-down. He also assured his employees their salaries until the month of May. Raj has also urged people to do as much as they do to people in distress.
