Rumors are that due to the outbreak and increasing spread of novel Corona Virus along with the issue with dates, Alia Bhatt may not star in RRR by SS Rajamouli. It is an action dama releasing January next year. It stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan and Ajay Devgn among many others. It has a budget of 350 crores. It's the producer is D. V. V. Danayya. Rajamouli's film is not the only one in danger. A lot of films worldwide have had to push back their release and even shooting schedules resulting in delays in many films set to release in the next two months.
RRR was facing problems since day 1. With Ramcharan Teja injuring himself to casting and scheduling problems. This was followed by British actress Daisy Edgar Jones dropping out at the last minute. Given the number of films Bhatt has signed up for this year, it will seem difficult for her to turn up for her guest appearance in RRR.
A source says, "Alia was to shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi through March and then join Rajamouli’s unit in Hyderabad in April. But now with all shootings canceled she has re-shuffle her dates. Since she is the hero of Bhansali’s film and has only a cameo in Rajamouli’s film she may end up not doing Rajamouli’s film at all.”

She was busy filming Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra when the mass quarantine was announced. It will be a fantasy drama. She is also working for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. It is an adaptation from Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi. She will also be working in RRR by SS Rajamouli. Her last film Gully Boy won her immense awards and praise. Right now, all shooting and film releases are stalled.
