Drishyam 2's Promotional Campaign Will Kick Out On The 'Drishyam Day' (October 2)

It was revealed on February 17, 2022, that Drishyam 2 had begun production and that Abhishek Pathak would serve as a director. The makers also published an on-set still of Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran, which heightened viewers' anticipation as the first part had become a critical and financial success. According to a source, "Drishyam 2's producers and director Abhishek Pathak have decided to launch the movie's promotional campaign on October 2." They believed that beginning their campaign on this date was appropriate because the date had significant meaning in the first part. Additionally, things worked out for them because Drishyam 2 is due out on November 18, which is 45 days after October 2. As a result, the crew decided in unity to launch the movie's marketing campaign on the national holiday.

"This is a smart plan," stated an industry analyst. "Since October 2 has come to be associated with Drishyam, viewers would go crazy over it. Now, on October 2, people remember Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn's character in Drishyam) attended Satsang and enjoyed pav bhaji with his family in addition to sending greetings commemorating the birthdays of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The commercial effort will therefore start on October 2 to a fantastic response".

The film Drishyam is a remake of the same-titled 2013 Malayalam movie. It was directed by the late Nishikant Kamat and featured Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu, Ishita Dutta, and Rajat Kapoor. It was the tale of a good-natured semi-literate man who, after his daughter and wife unintentionally killed a criminal who also happened to be the son of a senior police officer, devised an elaborate and faultless plot. He devised a foolproof explanation that he was in Goa having fun and attending the Satsang when the criminal son vanished as part of his scheme.

Drishyam 2 is likewise based on the same movie's sequel, which debuted on Amazon Prime in 2021. The remake's stellar cast now includes Akshaye Khanna as well.

Drishyam 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Abhishek Pathak, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, and is presented by Viacom18 Studios, T-Series, Gulshan Kumar, and Panorama Studios. It is also co-produced by Sanjeev Joshi, Aditya Chowksey, and Shiv Chanana.
