After starring in the National award-winning film Gully Boy, actress Alia Bhatt has firmly solidified her place in the film industry. She has delivered many outstanding performances over the years in films like Raazi, Gully Boy and Dear Zindagi. Now the actress is geared up to make her debut in the South Indian film industry with filmmaker SS Rajamouli's film RRR. The Baahubali director recently revealed why he chose to cast Alia Bhatt in his upcoming film. Rajamouli also spoke of the possibility of a love triangle in the film concerning Alia Bhatt, Jr NTR and Ram Charan.
The film's short-form RRR stands for Roudram Ranam Rudhiram in Telugu, Rathatham Ranam Rowthiram in Tamil and Rise Roar Revolt in Hindi. The film marks the South Indian film industry debut for both Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgan.
Speaking about his casting decision the much-celebrated director said, "I need an actress who can stand her ground between Tarak (NTR Jr) and Charan (Ramcharan Teja) both of whom are extremely talented actors. She can be innocent, vulnerable yet be extremely resilient. That is the reason I went for her.”
Just like all other films in the country RRR is also delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The director also addressed the same issue and said, “The shoot with Alia which was supposed to happen this month got canceled due to the pandemic. We need to re-work the dates and schedules. I am looking forward to working with her.”
He said that there is no love triangle in the film. He also said, "In a large-scale film it is very important that there is a perfect balance between art and commerce. One cannot be sacrificed for the sake of the other. Yes, it is also very good that their star status helps the pan India appeal."
