Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu is directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film hit the theatres on January 11 alongside Ajith Kumar's H Vinoth. Varisu boasts a huge star cast including Thalapathy Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Prabhu, Shaam, and Srikanth Meka. Ganesh Venkatraman was also seen in an important role in the film.
Speaking about the reception, Ganesh Venkatraman said, "Several people from the industry called me to convey this. Almost all of them have shown a keen desire to work with me. I think they saw me in a different dimension and that was very important for me as an actor."
He further added, "While I have played versatile roles in other language film industries like Telugu, Hindi & Malayalam, O always wondered why my Tamil industry was not able to see me beyond cop roles or the gentleman image that I got due to my stint in Big Boss. While am proud of them too, as an actor, my journey has always been to evolve and showcase different facets of me each time. Thankfully, I am confident that post-Varisu different roles will be offered to me where I can experiment with different looks too. Playing negative Characters gives you an opportunity to perform without any moral barriers. This year for me is about pushing the envelope in terms of performance and characterization. You will be seeing me in a variety of roles in my upcoming projects - grey to black."
