Rashmika started modeling when she was in college. After acting in a couple of advertisements, Rashmika made her feature film debut with the 2016 Kannada movie "Kirik Party". This Rakshit Shetty film was a big blockbuster at the box office. The success of "Kirik Party" gave Rashmika an opportunity to act alongside Kannada star heroes Puneeth Rajkumar and Ganesh in her next two films. Thus, she acted in "Anjani Putra" and "Chamak" in 2017.
Rashmika made her Telugu debut with the 2018 film "Chalo". This
Naga Shourya film was a big hit at the box office. She later appeared in
Vijay Deverakonda's "Geetha Govindham". It grossed more than Rs. 100 crores and became one of the biggest film hits in that year. This film brought wide fame to Rashmika in Tollywood. After that, she acted alongside
Nani in "Devadasu". In 2019, Rashmika acted in "Dear Comrade". Though the film was a commercial flop, it brought her a lot of critical acclaim.
