Last year, Vijay Sethupathi strirred up a hornet's nest when he signed the biopic of Sri Lankan cricketing legend Muttiah Muralitharan. As the film's first look poster was announced, Vijay Sethupathi and the makers of the film faced a massive backlash from Tamil community, which eventually forced the actor to walk out of the film. Due to such reactions from Tamil Nadu, the biopic has now been dropped. However, recently, actress Pooja Devariya took to social media to share some glimpses where Vijay Sethupathi can be seen taking part in workshops, which he took part when he planning to do the film.
Pooja Devariya, in an interview to a popular portal, said, " All our worksops are customised to suit the artiste and director's vision of the script, which take place in our studio. Typically, we put together a course or syllabus to help with information and exercises to aid such transformations. With the lockdown, we pushed our boundaries, and with someone like Vijay Sethupathi, who is already brimming with knowledge and awareness, transitioning to video calls wasn't difficult." Together, they worked on getting the body language of Muttiah Muralidharan right.
