Huma Qureshi States That Filming The Badlapur Rape Scene Was Traumatic And Filled Her With Rage

Huma Qureshi has recently been seen discussing her experience in playing a rape scene. The actresses discussed a variety of topics related to their employment, including the value of having intimacy coordinators on set. Intimacy coaches have grown in importance over the last few years as a crucial component of the shoot, guiding the performers through the procedure with ease.

Huma Qureshi remembered how traumatized she was while filming the Badlapur rape scene at the Bollywood Hungama Actresses Round Table 2022 hosted by Astroyogi. She was portrayed as a sex worker in the movie. She recalled filming the Badlapur scene as the discussion focused on the significant role intimacy instructors have played recently in movies. She explained, “I play a sex worker. That’s why I did the film because, for me, it was such a beautiful thing to explore how can we make people feel bad for a sex worker who we judge so freely and who can also be raped and that she is also a woman at the end of the day. I love that thing in that character but while doing the scene, I was a wreck”.

She claimed that Varun Dhawan and Sriram Raghavan made her feel the safest. “They were all amazing. But, it’s a lot. I remember going back to my room and I was fully clothed the whole time and it was all simulated but I went back home and my hands were shaking. You are not feeling it for the other person but you are there. I felt rage because you want to hit the person back and you can’t. I just felt rage. I had to really calm myself down," she said.

Varun Dhawan, Yami Gautam, and Radhika Apte appeared in the movie. It was under Sriram Raghavan's direction. In the meantime, Double XL and Monica O My Darling were Huma Qureshi's most recent films.
