On December 28, 2022, Netflix India shared this information on Instagram with the Double XL poster. It captioned, “Rajshri & Saira are coming to punch down on stereotypical beauty standards. Catch their tale of friendship and dreams on Double XL, streaming now only on Netflix”.
Two oversized women from urban New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh were essential to the movie's plot. It was a movie about two women learning to navigate their lives, celebrating female friendships. They embraces body positivity and shatters the misconception that a person's beauty is determined by their size. This movie had a unique concept with an excellent star cast, but it didn't catch on and critics gave it poor reviews.
