The film industries across the world have been severely hit by the coronavirus pandemic. The films which were due for the release got postponed. All the film productions got halted and the theatres got shutdown. The OTT platforms are trying to cash in these tough times. Many streaming sites are planning to buy the outright rights of the films which are due for the release. From the past few days, it is being reported that Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Laxmmi Bomb will have a direct release on the OTT. The Bollywood sources claim this news as true.
As per the reports, the talks are currently going on between the producers and the streaming platform Disney+Hotstar. Once an amount gets locked, the deal will get done. Apparently, Akshay Kumar told the makers to sell the film if everyone involved in it lands in a profit zone. As the deal is almost locked, we can assume that all parties which got involved in the film are ending up on the profit side. Once the deal gets closed, we will get an update about the digital release date of the film.
Laxmmi Bomb is an official remake of Tamil film Kanchana. Raghava Lawrence has directed this horror comedy film. Kiara Advani played the female lead in it. Tusshar Kapoor has essayed another important role in it. If there was no pandemic, it would have hit the screens on the 22nd of May, on the occasion of Eid. Laxmmi Bomb is being produced jointly by Akshay Kumar, Tusshar Kapoor and Bad X.
