Joe Russo Lauds RRR As A Towering Achievement

Filmmaker Joe Russo is the latest Hollywood star to applaud SS Rajamouli's "RRR," calling it a "perfectly done epic." Joe and his brother Anthony Russo, who directed blockbusters such as "Captain America: Winter Soldier," "Captain America: Civil War," and two "Avengers" flicks, are in India to promote their Netflix picture "The Gray Man."

Joe described "RRR" as a beautiful narrative about brotherhood he saw once it became accessible on a streaming site.

"It's popular right now because of OTT, and 'RRR' was a fantastic film." "I thought it was a pretty well-done epic, (with) good strong concepts, fantastic cinematography, and a really compelling tale about brothers," Joe said during a press event in New York.

"RRR," released in March, has grossed over Rs 1,200 crore at the global box office. The film debuted on OTT on May 20 and quickly became the most popular Indian film on the platform worldwide.

In recent weeks, a slew of Hollywood celebrities, including "Doctor Strange" director Scott Derrickson and writer C Robert Cargill, "Gremlins" star Joe Dante, "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn, "Dune" screenwriter Jon Spaihts, and filmmaker Christopher Miller, have praised the film for its lavish visual spectacle.

The Gray Man, directed by the team and starring Indian actor Dhanush alongside Hollywood stars like Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Rege-Jean Page, made its OTT premiere on Friday.
