Back in May 2020, Suriya took a brave decision as a producer to release his wife Jyotika's film, Ponmagal Vandhal, on Amazon Prime Video during the novel coronavirus pandemic. Initially, this decision met with a lot of backlash from producers. Later, he released his big-budget film Soorarai Pottru on the platform. This year, Suriya announced that four films from his production house will be released on Amazon Prime Video. The first film of the lot was Ramya Pandian's Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum, which was released in September. The next in line is Jyotika's 50th film titled Udanpirappe, directed by Era Saravanan.
On September 30, Amazon Prime Video took to social media to announce the release date of Udanpirappe. According to the poster, Udanpirappe will release on Amazon Prime Video on October 14. Soon, the makers will release the teaser and trailer of the film. According to reports, Udanpirappe is a heartwarming story between two siblings played by Jyotika and Sasikumar. The film is also having a simultaneous release in Telugu as Raktha Sambandham. The film is extra special for Jyotika as it marks her 50th film in her career. Suriya and Jyotika took to social media to share the posters of Udanpirappe to announce the release dates.
