We all are aware of Kamal Haasan's shelved film Marudhanayagam. This film got launched in 1997 in a grand way. Queen Elizebeth has attended this movie's launch as a chief guest. Kamal Haasan planned to direct and produce this film as well. But due to the financial constraints, the film eventually got shelved. In his recent social media live interaction, Kamal Haasan spoke about the revival of this film. He said that the film either needs a younger hero or it should get re-written to suit his age.
A couple of days back, Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi participated in a live interaction hosted by a popular Youtube channel. During this chat, Kamal said that he wrote Marudhanayagam imagining the lead character of age 40. He added that he is too old to play that character now. Thus, Kamal stated that if he gets the budget now, either a younger hero should play the lead role or else the entire script should get re-written, to suit his age.
Kamal Haasan also revealed that he has written a ballad story called Chinna Kansa. This got inspired by the character of Kansa, who is the uncle of Lord Krishna. Kamal said that Chinna Kansa will be easier to make, than Marudhanayagam.
On the film front, Kamal is currently acting in the film Indian 2. Directed by Shankar, this film is a sequel to the 1996 film of the same name. Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh are playing the other lead roles in this film. Indian 2 will hit the screens in 2021.
