Kamal Haasan Recovers From Covid-19, To Resume Work From December 4

After his birthday on November 7, Kamal Haasan flew to Chicago, the US for the launch of his clothing line called, Kamal Haasan House of Khaddar. He partnered with costume designer Amritha Ram for the same. Upon his return from the US, Kamal Haasan developed a mild cough and tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Media Centre on November 22. He passed on the baton to Ramya Krishnan to take over as host of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 5. IT has been reported that Ramya Krishnan will host the weekend episodes for the second week. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.

 
A statement from the hospital read, "Mr. Kamal Haasan, who has been admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre on 22nd November 2021 was Covid Positive. He had mild covid for which he was treated. He has fully recovered but was advised to be in isolation until 3rd December 2021. He will be fit to resume his routine work from 4th December 2021 (sic)." Kamal Haasan appeared on a video call on November 27 and said, "Many people think that Covid-19 has gone or it is just a rumor. But it was a jolt to me when I tested positive. Many, including me, thought that there wouldn't be another wave and got complacent. I can talk to you only because I took two doses of the vaccine. I see this as an opportunity to spread awareness about the virus and request people not to let their guard down. From Chief Minister MK Stalin to many other celebrities, people wished me a speedy recovery. My heartfelt thanks to everyone."
