Karnataka is seeing a reduction in the number of Covid-19 cases. As the cases are coming down, there is curiosity whether theatres across the state will be reopened. When the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic struck, theatres were the first ones to shut down. Shivarajkumar, who has been the voice of the Kannada film industry recently, revealed that he is planning to appeal to the government asking them to consider reopening theatres with 100 percent occupancy. Since the film workers and the employees of the theatres are affected, reopening them will help them breathe a sigh of relief.
Shivarajkumar said, "I plan on representing the industry and going and asking Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai directly for help. The reason is that the cases have been reducing and the industry needs to survive, as do the other people who are dependant on the film industry. We have also seen how places like Hyderabad have had 100 percent occupancy in cinema halls being granted. I think we can also afford to ask for the same now, of course, the safety and welfare of everyone during the pandemic are paramount and we want to keep in mind the same and ensure we do not play a catalyst to any further increase in cases. Let us hope that everything works out well for all of us."
