Karthi Confirms Kaithi Sequel, Reveals When The Shoot Will Begin

Karthi has been busy shooting for his upcoming film, Viruman, directed by Muthaiah. The film, which also stars director Shankar's daughter Aditi, will grace the screens on August 11. Recently, Karthi went to Kerala to promote Viruman in the state. During the conversation with the media, Karthi confirmed that Kaithi 2 will go on floors in 2023. He also added that the film will begin once director Lokesh Kanagaraj completes shooting for Thalapathy Vijay's 67th film. He further added that he met Lokesh to discuss the sequel. Reportedly, Lokesh was worried that Karthi is getting fairer by the day and his character Dilli in Kaithi is dark-skinned.

Speaking to the media, Karthi said, "We are planning Kaithi 2 next year (2023). Once Lokesh Kanagaraj finishes Vijay sir's film, we will start Kaithi 2. Also, I don't know if Suriya's Rolex will meet Dilli in Kaithi 2. Lokesh has to say. Right now, I don't have an answer for that." Kaithi and Kamal Haasan's Vikram are part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe. There is a high possibility that Suriya's Rolex will meet Karthi's Dilli in Kaithi 2.
