Mani Ratnam Tested Positive For Covid-19

Mani Ratnam, the director of the upcoming period film 'Ponniyin Selvan,' has tested positive for COVID-19. The legendary director was recently working on the post-production work of 'Ponniyin Selvan,' which is set to be released on September 30th. After feeling ill, the director underwent a COVID test, and it was discovered that he is infected with the virus. He was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai and, according to reports, he is stable with no other symptoms.

 
Mani Ratnam last appeared for the grand teaser launch of 'Ponniyin Selvan' that happened in Chennai on July 8th. The film is based on an epic novel of the same name by the famous writer Kalki Krishnamurthy. The screenplay was written by Mani Ratnam and B. Jayamohan.
 
The expected magnum opus of Mani Ratnam will feature a star cast including Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Thrisha, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Ashwin Kakumanu. Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, along with Subashkaran under the banner of Lyca Productions, produce the film. The cinematography of the film is done by Ravi Varman and the cuts are by Sreekar Prasad. Ponniyin Selvan is one of the biggest budget films in India with a total budget of 500 crores. The film will have a worldwide theatrical release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on September 30.
