The superstar will portray the role of an archaeologist in the film and has already finished shooting in Varanasi in June.
The film will also be reuniting the two legends Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna after 17 years. They were last seen together in the 2002 release Agni Varsha, but their friendship goes way back to 1992 release Khuda Gawah.
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, "Nagarjuna’s character, along with his students, undertakes an expedition to restore an ancient temple along the banks of the Ganga. The story unfolds in the ancient temple city before moving to the Himalayas. The film’s antagonists, Mouni Roy and Saurav Gurjar, also come into play because of Nagarjuna’s track. The adventure kicks off after all of them come face-to-face in Varanasi. A high-octane action sequence featuring them was shot earlier in the year."
Brahmastra is the first title in Ayan’s trilogy that aims to combine ancient Indian mythology and science fiction.
