The next move of actor-politician Nikhil Kumaraswamy, whether it be in politics or movies, has been the subject of unending rumors and he now dons an action avatar for his upcoming, as of yet untitled picture with rookie filmmaker Mano Hara.
The line "I am here to win, not to compete" is emphasized on the concept poster for the movie. The poster was unveiled on Sunday—which was also Nikhil's birthday.
Mano Hara, a first-time filmmaker, previously worked with Chetan on James by Puneeth Rajkumar. He adds that the movie isn't about sports but rather a raw action subject. “I worked on the script and approached Nikhil with the help of producer Sreekanth KP; who was instrumental in bringing Nikhil on board. Nikhil heard the script in one sitting and was impressed by the story and his character. He also appreciated the backdrop,” says Mano Hara.
“I cannot reveal much about the story, but the response I got for the story was good, positive, and reassuring. We are yet to finalize the title. The film will go on the floors soon. We are now finalizing pre-production work, and are hunting locations, Nikhil’s look, and more,” Mano Hara adds.
Election season has Nikhil focusing solely on politics after taking a break from acting in movies. He's supposed to start filming in April. In his most recent movie, Rider, he also portrayed a basketball player. He is also working on the Manju Atharva-directed film Yaduveera.
Nikhil ran in the 2019 parliamentary elections but lost to Sumalatha Ambareesh, an actress and Ambareesh's wife. He lost by a wide margin. He is now running again. He is currently busy running election campaigns for his party all throughout Karnataka.
