Without any respect for the Censor Certificate issued by the CBFC, Andhra Pradesh government felt that the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be troubled by Valmiki movie and banned the movie screening both in Ananthapur and Kurnool Districts citing Law and order concerns from a Community.
Boya community is staging some protests saying that their sentiments are hurt as a villain is named with a great sage's name. This community was opposing the Valmiki title from the launch date of the film and demanded the change of the title from the very beginning. However, Makers turned a blind to their concern and didn’t bother to change the title of the film and all this as ended with film ban in two districts a day before the release of the movie. This was a surprise and none would have expected such a step by the AP government just a day before the film's release.
Shocked by this decision, now director Harish Shankar and producers 14 Reels Plus are said to have taken a decision to change the title of the film to ""Gaddalakonda Ganesh". Director Harish Shankar, Producers Ram & Gopi Achanta along with Damu addressed the media about the title. New publicity designs and materials are being made and posters with the new title will be printed by the night. All we can say is this is an unfair treatment to the craft and film industry. Things like this shouldn't happen to anyone or any film.
