Bollywood suffers from yet another great loss. Director Rajat Mukherjee, known for his films like Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Road, Love in Nepal, and others have passed away. Sources say that the director was suffering from multiple health complications. According to reports, Mukherjee passed away due to kidney failure in Jaipur. Rajat Mukherjee was at his hometown Jaipur during the coronavirus lockdown. He was allegedly hospitalized for kidney problems. Mukherjee then underwent dialysis to treat his kidney problems. The news of his untimely demise has shocked Bollywood. Bollywood personalities like Hansal Mehta, Manoj Bajpayee, Anubhav Sinha, and others took to social media to recount their memories with the director.
The last couple of months have been months of great losses. We've lost gems like Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Wajid Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Saroj Khan.
Hansal Mehta took to his social media to recount the good old days with the director. He wrote, "Just got news about the passing away of a dear friend. Rajat Mukherjee director of Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and Road was a friend from our early, early struggles in Bombay. Many meals, many bottles of Old Monk consumed. Many more to consume in another world. Will miss you, dear friend."
Anubhav Sinha tweeted, "Another friend gone too soon. Director Rajat Mukherjee (Pyar Tune Kya Kiya, Road). He was dealing with multiple health situations past few months in Jaipur. Go well mate."
Actor Manoj Bajpayee wrote a message to his dear friend. He wrote, "My friend and director of Road, Rajat Mukherjee passed away in the early hours today in Jaipur after a long battle with illness!!! Rest in peace Rajat !! Still can’t believe that we will never meet or discuss our work ever again.khush reh jaha bhi reh."
