After scoring a blockbuster with Petta earlier this year, Superstar Rajinikanth has teamed up with ace director AR Murugadoss for the film Darbar. The film has completed its shoot and is gearing up for a grand release during the Pongal season of 2020. Meanwhile, the audio of the film got launched at a gala event the other day in Chennai.
Along with Rajini and Murugadoss, producer Subaskaran, director Shankar and music director Anirudh Ravichander have attended the event. Speaking at the event, Anirudh said that he feels blessed to work with Rajini once again after Petta. He recollected that Arunachalam is the first film he watched in the theatres.
Director AR Murugadoss said that he didn't want to come on stage and wanted to sit in the front row of fans as he is the senior-most fan of Rajini. Addressing his fans, Rajini said that he wanted to stop doing younger roles after Lingaa, but Petta's success gave him new confidence. Soon after its release, Murugadoss narrated the Darbar story. Rajini stated that he will not be in Chennai on his birthday and added that the event is his birthday function. He requested his fans not to celebrate the birthday in a lavish way. Darbar features Nayanthara as the female lead.
