Superstar Rajinikanth was last seen in director Ar Murugadoss's Darbar, which was released in theatres in January 2020. After that, he signed Annaattthe with director Siruthai Siva. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film is currently progressing at a brisk pace. Recently, Sun Pictures, the production house announced that Annaatthe will release in theatres on November 4, on the occasion of Diwali. Meanwhile, there are already talks about his upcoming film. In a recent interview, Rajinikanth said that he will probably be active in the Tamil film industry for two more years and call it quits. Now all eyes are on his upcoming film.
Reportedly, Rajinikanth prefers to work with young filmmakers in his next two films. Director Desingh Periyasamy who had made his debut with Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal is in the frontline to direct Thalaivar. When KKK was released last year, Rajinikanth watched his film and personally called him to congratulate him. After sharing his thoughts about his film, Rajinikanth asked if he has a script for him. Desingh Periyasamy, a self-confessed Rajinikanth fan seems to have managed to impress the actor. His upcoming film is likely to be produced by AGS Production. An upcoming announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.
