Ram Pothineni slams rumors on shelving of his upcoming film Red

Ram Pothineni will next appear in the titled Red. The film is the remake of the Tamil blockbuster Thadam. The film was to hit the theatres on April 9th. The release, however, stands postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Red Team had not announced a future release date. Considering that there was no news of the release date, rumors of an OTT release were floating around. Ram Pothineni took to twitter to shut down such rumors. The actor replied to an article whose title was "Ram is in a dilemma." The article questioned whether Ram Pothineni is considering an OTT release or a theatrical release. The article's link was shared on a Ram Pothineni page. The actor replied to the question of his dilemma with a tweet that read, "Nope! #RAPO is not in any dilemma..in fact he’s been chilling at home following the Government’s rules on Social Distancing & Home Quarantine. ( like he’s been doing for the past 15 years or so..) & also, he’s waiting to see his fans watch #RedTheFilm on the BIG SCREEN!" From this, we know that the film Red will indeed have a theatrical release after the coronavirus outbreak subsides. In addition to Ram, the film stars actors Nivetha Pethuraj and Malvika Sharma in the lead roles. Kishore Tirumala has directed the film. Ram Pothineni will be taking on a dual role. Mani Sharma has composed the film's score.
