RJ Balaji was last seen in Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman, which released directly on Disney + Hotstar after skipping theatrical release. Apart from acting in the film, he directed Mookuthi Amman along with NJ Saravanan. Now, reports suggest that RJ Balaji has finalised his next film. Reportedly, his next film is the Tamil remake of the Bollywood hit film Badhaai Ho which features Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Gajaraj Rao and Neena Gupta in lead roles. The Tamil remake rights of Badhaai Ho has been secured by Boney Kapoor.
After Badhaai Ho became a great success, it was reported that the film will be remade in all languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Now, reports suggest that RJ Balaji will step into Ayushmann Khurrana's shoes in the film. Like Mookuthi Amman, Badhaai Ho remake will also be directed by NJ Saravanan and RJ Balaji an official announcement regarding the same will be out soon. Also, it is reported that Sathyaraj will play Gajaraj Rao's role in the film. The pre-production work of the Tamil remake of Badhaai Ho is currently underway.
