Whenever our country faces a crisis, our Bollywood celebrities have come forward to show their support. And now, as the whole world is in lockdown amid the outbreak of COVID-19, actors like
Akshay Kumar,
Salman Khan, and others have pledged their support to various relief funds. Joining the bandwagon is A-list actor
Shah Rukh Khan, who has pledged his support to the Prime Minister's CARES fund, the State fund (Maharashtra) and to various daily wage workers.
On Thursday, King Khan shared an official notice on his social media handle, which details his contribution to various relief funds. SRK wrote, "In these times it’s imp to make everyone around u working tirelessly for u.. not related to u.. perhaps even unknown to u... to feel they are not alone and by themselves. Let’s just make sure we all do our little bit to look after each other. India and all Indians are One Family.”
Not just this, the Meer Foundation has joined hands with Ek Saath to provide food and grocery to 5500 families for at least a month in Mumbai. Along with providing physical and monetary help, these foundations will work on spreading awareness about the virus in remote locations. Not just SRK, but his wife Gauri Khan, who owns the Red Chillies production house, has pledged to support the Chief Minister's fund.
